Welcome to the third production update from Ride With Cowboys - now known as RIDE AROUND THE WORLD. With locations as visually spectacular as Mexico, Morocco, and Spain, we thought we'd let the pictures tell the tale, with a blog-style recap from producer Brady Dial.
Mexico
Day One: Austin to Veracruz. Just 4.5 hours of flying - after Patagonia, a snap. Two-hour drive to Xalapa reveals verdant coastal paradise - must return to visit when not lugging 80 pounds of audio gear and 2,000 pounds of film crew!
Reach Xalapa late afternoon and filming location, a secluded lienzo - keyhole-shaped arena. Built of meticulously hand-laid stone, for charreada, Mexican ancestor to rodeo performed in traditional clothing, riding magnificent horses. Seating for hundreds - feel great shame over unfinished deck in my backyard.
Day Two: Crew rigs rental truck with crane arm and Libra head for tracking shots of bulls and horses running up lienzo. Numerous holes drilled in bed - farewell, deposit. Oh well, truck happens to be a Ford - the sponsor will be happy! The car rental company...not so much. Shots look amazing.
