Day Six: Director and cinematographer scout aerial shots of Veracruz coastline and Roca Partida - "Split Rock Point" - a coastal landmark. Sound mixer and I head back to lienzo with story consultant & horse expert Jasper Winn to gather wild sound, but shut down by weather. What is sound of one horse running? On wet dirt, not too much.

Day Seven: Sun re-emerges and aerials come off beautifully. Sparkling coastline and lush green mountains practically made for 15/70. Returning to town for one more meal together, cast and crew toast a shoot well done - Mexico, the grandfather of North American cowboy culture, is in the can.
